Police Chief Inspector Delia Jacob Ingalla Chief, Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD)/ Family, Juvenile, Gender and Development (FJGAD) Section Taguig City Police Station The office of a women’s and children’s protection desk is a fraught one: every day, stories of abuse, neglect and betrayal are what face the men and women who front it. Police Chief Inspector Delia Jacob Ingalla, leadership of the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) and Family, Juvenile, Gender (FJGAD) Section has made the Taguig City Police Station a leader in the metropolitan area. On its roster is a list of 30 rescued victims, incurred with zero to minimal cost to their families, a record of its kind. And this is just the beginning of PCInsp Ingalla’s remarkable work.
Crime prevention is also a passion for PCInsp Ingalla. Oplan Nightbirds, an anti-criminality program installed by PCI Ingalla, enjoined public safety officers to enact evening patrol routes in Taguig, particularly in crime-prone areas. This decreased the year-to-year instances in criminality from 2006 to 2007 from 989 to 723. Twenty-eight barangays in Taguig were the target of her lecture series DELIA, which stands for Dare to make a difference, Education is the Key to End Violence Against Women and Children, Liberate abused Women, Children and Family from the Bondage of Violence, Idealism and Inspiration and Acceptance and acknowledgment. |
