POLICE OFFICER 3 ANA LISA RAGOTERO REYES Print E-mail

PO3 Reyes might have earned a degree in BS in Business Administration major in Accounting, but her heart is surely in the law enforcement.

After working for six years a book keeper, she finally found her vocation as a public servant, and her budding yet already productive career with the PNP is proof that she is in the right place.

Her intrinsic investigative skills are essential to her success, allowing her to respond quickly and effectively to emergency cases involving abuse women and children, often resulting to the apprehension of the culprits and the filing of appropriate cases in court, not to mention the resolution of heinous child abuse cases or gender-related crimes.

Her landmark contributions, however, institutionalizing multi-sectoral approaches to addressing women’s and children’s concerns, which is amply demonstrated by her Bahay Kalinga concept of a shelter for abused children, which was realized through the support of the local government of Antipolo, the City Social Welfare and Development Office, an NGO (the Soroptimist International of Antipolo)and generous private individuals.

Similarly, the idea of a temporary shelter for abused women is now being finalized through the initiative of PO3 Reyes. When not out on the streets, she takes her advocacy to the board room, where she has helped draft a city ordinance for the creation of a development plan for children, which hopes to become the basis of a comprehensive effort to make Antipolo a Women and Child-Friendly City.
