Police Community Relations PNCO Calapan City Police Station Bagalangit, Mabini, Batangas Calapan City’s rapid industrial and tourist development has brought with it a host of problems, but it’s a job that PO3 Alcano is more than ready for. Over the past few years, operations headed by PO3 Alcano have taken down four illegal drug rings. From buy-bust operations to the large-scale neutralization of two clandestine laboratories that produced methamphetamines worth a PhP1,000,000, PO3 Alcano has been on the forefront of combating illegal drug manufacture and distribution in his Calapan.
Defenseless women are also on his law enforcement radar, putting his office’s resources to bear in the closing of the Blue Lagoon Bar, which was found to have employed minor-age females as “guest relations officers.” The rehabilitation of women in this line of work is also a concern for PO3 Alcano, and it is in this light that he created a program with the City Social Welfare and Development Office that seeks to teach these ladies sustainable job and business skills, as well as provide them with financial assistance to start their new lives. As a Community Relations Officer, PO3 Alcano has also become the public voice of the Calapan City PD through his work with the station’s regular radio program “Ang Mamang Pulis ng Calapan City.” Aside from providing tips on crime prevention, PO3 Alcano has made “Ang Mamang Pulis” a platform for law enforcement issues, always exhorting the listening public to support the PNP in their efforts against criminality. As a trusted member of the community, his listeners pay him back with encouragement and tips about the lawless elements they find in their city, confident that PO3 Alcano will find a way to resolve their issues in the interests of their city. Apart from this, he reaches out to the schools, barangays and Muslim communities with talks, symposia and even economic development initiatives such as Gulayan ni Mama at Aleng Pulis sa Paaralan, Linis Eskwelahan, Puno Para sa Kalikasan and establishment of Mga Munting Mama at Aleng Pulis ng Paaralan. |
