Another PNP store opens

STA. BARBARA -- After opening the Philippine National Police (PNP) Service Store inside the police provincial headquarters in Lingayen, the PNP Service Store System (PNP-SSS) opened its first-ever municipal branch.

 

PNP-SSS Administrator Jose Antonio Salvadion, Police Directorate for Integrated Police Operation-Northern Luzon Director Silverio Alarcio and Mayor Reynaldo Velasco led the inauguration of the Sta. Barbara PNP service store Monday morning.

 

Also present was Ilocos Deputy Director for Administration Manuel Cachero. "I thank the PNP for choosing our police station to host the first 'Mamang Pulis' store municipal branch here," Velasco said.

 

Salvacion said more PNP-SSS provincial branches will be opened this year with the objective of bringing it down to the municipal and city police station levels.

 

Police Officer (PO) 3 Richard Palaganas was designated as Store Supervisor. The store will not only cater to policemen but also to other government employees.

 

A certain percentage of the net income will go the Sta. Barbara Police Station Cooperative said its president SPO4 Jaime Jimenez.

 

What is good about the PNP-SSS is that it sells 15 percent lower than the prices of goods that can be purchased outside.

 

"Percentage of the net income will go to Police Station's cooperative to support its various activities," says SPO4 Jaime Jimenez, the elected president of the loan cooperative. "This is part of the PNP Integrated Transformation Program, purposely to benefit policemen and their fa said Superintendent Eric Noble, the town police chief.

 

PNP-Service Store System was created in January 15, 1976 through Presidential Decree 875 and open under the administrative management of the PNP.

 

Its purpose is to provide common household and other merchandise to PNP personnel and other depe affordable and competitive prices in the region. It used to be concentrated only at the PNP National headquarters at Camp Crame and some separate units and regional headquarters Prices of the commodities here are much lower from those in grocery stores as these are bought less VAT.
