Across the nation, countless uniformed men and women of the Philippine National Police (PNP) patiently live by the ideals of service, honor, and justice despite the challenges they face everyday in fulfilling their sworn duty to uphold the law and protect the welfare of their countrymen.
Nowadays, their inspiring stories of heroism, above and beyond the call of duty, not only abound in police circles and neighborhoods where they serve and protect the citizens. Their stories of gallantry can also be found on the Internet.
The Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service (COPS) website (www.cops.com.ph) features stories of courage, valor, and exemplary community service of the members of the Philippine National Police (PNP), most notably, awardees of the Search for COPS.
The search is a career service award that recognizes top policemen and women for their consistent outstanding contributions in preventing and solving crimes through community work and mobilization. It is organized by Metrobank Foundation, PSBank and the Rotary Club of New Manila East in coordination with the PNP.
PSBank has commissioned the design and development of the website to help improve the image and reputation of law enforcers by promoting their good deeds, which are often unnoticed, and countering the bad publicity brought about by some misguided members of the force.
The COPS website’s home page features laudable stories of police officers who made a difference in the communities they serve. It also showcases stories on COPS awardees, particularly the ten awardees in the 2009 Search for COPS.
The website’s sections include Salute, In Service of the Community, Women’s and Children’s Protectors, and COPS Search.
Salute provides inspiring true stories of the country’s police force in their crime prevention and solution efforts.
In Service of the Community highlights activities that uplift the quality of life of residents in the communities. This section also features nationwide programs of the PNP such as "Pulis Mo, Titser Ko."
Women’s and Children’s Protectors showcase heartwarming stories on how the Women's and Children's Desk has helped, rescued, or made a difference in the lives of women and children in the community.COPS Search includes quick facts and frequently asked questions about the competition, as well as a gallery of past COPS awardees.
