Last July 5, in celebration of the 15th Police Community Relations Month, with theme: Matatag na Pagkakaisa ng Pambansang Pulisya at Mamamayan Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran, the Philippine National Police (PNP) gave plaques of recognition to the three institutions responsible for the Search for the Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service (COPS): PSBank, Metrobank Foundation and Rotary Club of New Manila East. They were recognized for their “invaluable support and remarkable contribution to the PNP to uplift the morale and welfare of its members thru the annual search for COPS.”
In his speech as guest of honor, former PNP Police Community Relations Director, and now 2nd District of Pangasinan Representative Leopoldo Bataoil highlighted the importance of establishing a connection with the people to achieve peace and development. PSBank has been a program partner of the annual search for several years. COPS is an annual search that recognizes the shared responsibility between the police and community by honoring exemplary members of the PNP who have worked with their communities in solving and preventing crime. Each year, four commissioned officers and six non-commissioned officers are named as COPS awardees. Aside from the honor of being one of the country’s top policemen and women, each winner will receive P250,000 and a trophy courtesy of the Metrobank Foundation.
