MANILA, Feb. 10 (PNA) – More than 300 police officers (POs) and police non-commissioned officers (PNCOs) of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) have been promoted to the next higher rank. The QCPD-Human Resource Division (HRD) said on Wednesday one of the newly-promoted police officers is 2003 COPS awardee Chief Inspector Reynaldo Z. Medina, commander of the QCPD-Bahay Toro Police Community Precinct (PCP) under QCPD Station 3 in Barangay Talipapa, Novaliches.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Roberto Rosales pinned the rank of Chief Inspector (Major) on Medina during ceremonies at the NCRPO Headquarters in Taguig City last February 8. Medina is among 1,674 policemen in the NCRPO who have been promoted to one rank higher with the passage of Republic Act No. 9708. Medina was recognized as one of the COPS awardee in 2003 under the Non-Commissioned Officer Category. He was then ranked as SPO4 assigned as Station Commander of the Balintawak PNP Assistance Center of Central Police District Police Station 1.Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Jesus Verzosa and Rosales earlier approved the promotion of 256 Police Commissioned Officers and 1,418 Police Non-Commissioned Officers in the NCRPO after months of deliberation and upon submission of the final recommendation of the Regional Promotion Board. The promoted PCOs consists of 10 Superintendents, 113 Chief Inspectors, 58 Senior Inspectors and 78 Inspectors. On the other hand, the promoted PNCOs consists of 59 Senior Police officers (SPO4s,) 127 SPO3s, 401 SPO2s, 106 SPO1s, 212 PO3s, and 513 PO2s. (PNA) scs/JCA |
