The PNP Special Action Force is celebrating its 28th Founding Anniversary on May 16, 2011 and one of its activities is the conduct of Medical and Dental Mission dubbed “Libreng Gamutan” at Sitio San Ysiro, Brgy San Jose, Antipolo City. This activity is a follow-up of the successful medical and dental mission conducted at Sitio San Joseph of the same locality on February 25, 2011.
The “Libreng Gamutan” in Sitio San Ysiro, Brgy San Jose, Antipolo City was conducted on May 6, 2011 wherein more or less 500 residents were given free various health services. This noble project materialized through the concerted effort of the PNP Special Action Force, the Local Government of Antipolo City, the 16thIB of the Philippine Army, UNILAB and the Medical Outreach Missions Foundation Incorporated (MOMFI) from Baguio City that provided 30 medical personnel. The activity was held at the Canumay High School in Sitio San Ysiro, Brgy. San Jose, Antipolo City at about 8:00 A.M. just in time after the PNP SAF troops arrived from an eight (8) Kilometer Force March. Among the services made available to the community were free consultations, medical and dental services, circumcision, EENT examination, minor surgery and haircut. Ample medicines were also made available to the beneficiaries. Food and snacks were also served free to all the beneficiaries. In a simple program, the local officials of the place conveyed their profound gratitude to all the organizers because despite the remoteness of their barangay, such mission was provided to them. They also added that it was the first ever medical mission conducted in their area. In ending, everyone called for unity and active partnership among the PNP, AFP, LGUs and the community for peace and development in their community. At about 4:00 PM of that day, the activity ended and all the organizers packed-up and returned to their respective units in high spirits knowing that the residents benefited immensely from the free medical services provided. Additional medicines and vitamins for children were also turned-over to two (2) Sitio Chairmen for distribution to the residents in their respective areas. The Medical and Dental Missions spearheaded by the PNP Special Action Force is part of its Community Assistance Program in all its areas of deployment which aims to enhance the relationship between the community and the Police for the promotion of peace and development. |
