The Metrobank Foundation’s Search for the Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service (COPS) awardees from 2003 t0 2008 have recently organized themselves into an association that will promote responsible citizenship not only in the Philippine National Police but in their respective communities as well. The newly established alumni association of COPS is called Policemen Responsible for Organizing, Training, Empowering Communities or PROTECT. The main goal of PROTECT is to promote a culture of excellence in the police force through programs promoting responsible citizenship that would hopefully lead towards nation building.

The following COPS Awardees were elected as Major Officers as provided in the PROTECT Bylaws.

  • President PSupt. Alfred Corpus (2005)
  • Internal VP PSupt. Felicidad Gido (2006)
  • External VP PSupt. Bernabe Balba (2005)
  • Sec. Gen. PSupt. Ronald Lee (2008)
  • National Treasurer PSupt. Raynold Rosero (2008)
  • Auditor PSupt. Alex Sintin (2008)
  • Communication Director PSupt. Leo Angelo Leuterio (2004)

With reference to the PROTECT Bylaws Article VII Section 9, the following committees were created.

a. Membership Committee (Chaired by the Internal Vice-President)
b. Programs Committee (Chaired by the External Vice-President)
c. Secretariat Committee (Chaired by the Secretary General)
d. Finance Committee (Chaired by the National Treasurer)
e. Communications Committee (Chaired by the Communications Director)

Members of the MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE to be led by the Internal Vice President are the following:

1. PO2 Girlie Gay Sañado, Police Station 6, General Santos City
2. SPO1 Rodelio Garcia, Taytay Police Station, Taytay, Rizal
3. PSupt. Isaias Tonog, Calbayog City Police Station, Catarman
4. SPO2 Vladimir Tugonon, Police Station 6, General Santos City
5. SPO2 Rosalie Somblingo, Police Precinct 5, General Santos Police Office, General Santos City
6. PSInsp. Reynaldo Medina, PS3 QCPD, PCP 3 Quezon City
7. SPO3 Evarose Catalan, PCR, PS3, QCPD, NCR
8. SPO1 Efren Salazar, Police Station 6, General Santos City
9. PO2 Rodel Javison, General Santo City Police Office, Police Precinct 2, General Santos City

The PROGRAMS COMMITTEE chaired by the External Vice President will have the following members:

1. SPO1 Tejanne Zarzoso, Cabadbaran Police Station, Cabadbaran City
2. PSupt. Emma Gallero, Southern Crime Laboratory Office, Makati City
3. SPO2 Geroilan Mudanza, RIO 4-B Mimaropa, Bansad, Oriental Mindoro
4. SPO2 Oscar Bandoy, Regional Intelligence Division, PRO 8, Kangleon, Palo, Leyte
5. SPO4 Nestor Kahano, Office of the Regional Intelligence and Investigation Division (ORIID) Palo

Another committee was created to assist the Secretary General. The members are:

1. SPO1 Liza Jane Alteza, Iriga City Police Station, Police Provincial Office, Camarines Sur, RR05 Iriga City
2. PO2 Anna Lisa Reyes, Antipolo City Police Station, Antipolo City
3. SPO1 Pablo Selloriquez, PCP 1 Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan

The FINANCE COMMITTEE, to be led by the National Treasurer will have the following members:

1. PSupt. Jonathan Calixto, 1st Special Action Battalion, PNP-SAF, Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City
2. SPO2 Josefa Lacandula, Dumaguete City Police Station, Dumaguete City
3. SPO1 Annie Marie Anuary, Zamboanga City Police Station 6, Zamboanga City
4. SPO1 Emman Orivida, 416th Police Provincial Mobile Group Macalelon, Quezon
5. PO3 Dandy Ferriol, Masbate City Police Station, Masbate City

The COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE to be led by the Communications Director is composed of only two members, they are:

1. SPO4 Alex Mabalot, PCR Branch, Zamboanga City Police Office, PRO9, Zamboanga City
2. SPO1 Recto Valeriano, 509th Police Provincial mobile Group, Bulan
