Mr. Pascua M. Garcia III President, PSBank Rizal Ceremonial Hall, Malacañang Palace PNP Chief Jesus Verzosa, Metrobank Foundation President Chito Sobrepena, Rotary Club of New Manila East President Noel Bongat, esteemed police officers, my fellow PSBankers, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon. I remember standing here a year ago, delivering the keynote speech during the awarding ceremony. Since that time, we had to face many challenges and trials that tested our character as individuals and as a people. What warms my heart and makes me especially proud is that even in the face of all these, the program - the Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service - never runs out of exemplary police officers to honor every year. This only means one thing - that there are countless policemen and women who silently yet consistently practice the virtues of integrity, honesty and selfless service everyday. They never get tired of doing good even if no one is watching, even if no one knows the great difference they make in our lives. |

For the past eight years, the Metrobank Foundation has had the privilege of presenting the awardees of the Search for the Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service or COPS before her excellency President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo here at the Malacañan palace. Truly, this ceremony has become the highlight of the one-week recognition program that we prepare for our awardees each year. |
