Over the past few years, operations headed by PO3 Alcano have taken down four illegal drug rings.

From buy-bust operations to the large-scale neutralization of two clandestine laboratories that produced methamphetamines worth a PhP1,000,000, PO3 Alcano has been on the forefront of combating illegal drug manufacture and distribution in his Calapan.

A mother of four herself, and a veteran of the police force for seven years, the youth of Police Officer 2 Rina dela Cruz Salaya of Maasin Municipality hides a steely determination to pursue justice for the sake of her community.

The biggest lesson from PO2 Salaya’s tour of duty is that police efficiency can, in fact, curb the instances of abuse and increase the community’s trust in the law.

Among the most notable operations she handled are child and women’s abuses.

Public service is also a deeper concern for PO2 Salaya, who participates in no less than seven neighborhood-oriented community activities in her area of responsibility.

To be fair, the cases he has worked on as a detective – pursuing robbers, assassins, insurgents, drug pushers, and kidnappers – sound like fictional exploits.

But SPO4 Isiang knows that police work isn’t just action heroics.

The office of a women’s and children’s protection desk is a fraught one: every day, stories of abuse, neglect and betrayal are what face the men and women who front it.

Police Chief Inspector Delia Jacob Ingalla, leadership of the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) and Family, Juvenile, Gender (FJGAD) Section has made the Taguig City Police Station a leader in the metropolitan area.

On its roster is a list of 30 rescued victims, incurred with zero to minimal cost to their families, a record of its kind.

And this is just the beginning of PCInsp Ingalla’s remarkable work.

A man with four degrees, one of them from the Philippine Military Academy and another in law, has decided to dedicate 22 years of his life to serve and protect his fellow man by joining the Philippine National Police.  

Meet PSupt Steve Bentican Ludan, the Chief of the Budget and Fiscal Office of the PNP Aviation Security Group. In the takedown of the Apeng Santos Kidnap For Ransom Group, PSupt Ludan enforced case build-up and follow-up operations and, upon tracking down the suspects and their hostages, he took on the role of chief negotiator.
