 5. Police Officer 3 Edilberto B. Euraoba III
Public Information Officer / Police Community Relations Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office Sibulan, Negros Oriental PO3 Euraoba’s significant contributions in service include the arrest of murderers, terrorists, drug pushers. Most of them were arrested because of PO3 Euraoba’s persistence in gaining the trust and confidence of the people in community where the suspects reside. A police officer who believes that the people’s participation in crime prevention is important for the police to be effective in performing their duties, he encourages the residents of his community to engage in crime prevention and solution through his radio program Dumaguete Tonight, Saturday Edition: Police Hour and through his TV program Pulis sa Katilingban.
Through these interactive programs, which allow the audience to share their views on how to prevent and solve crime, the police force gained the support of the community which led to the decrease in criminality in their area. As part of his community involvement, PO3 Euraoba also conducted trainings and seminars on illegal drugs, children’s rights, child abuse law, juvenile justice and sexual abuse for students, as well as trainings on Revised Penal Code, Katarungang Pambarangay, and laws concerning women, children and youth for the barangay tanod. |
