As a priest, PSupt. Ponsaran considers himself as a “shepherd” who guides the members of his community towards peace. Many of his accomplishments deal with conflict resolution in his area of assignment.

These include holding a dialogue between the elders of Teduray Tribe in Brgy. Making, Parang, Maguindanao to end the conflict, which involved land grabbing and family feuds, between Christian and Muslim communities.

He likewise contributed to the resolution of the rido or clan feud between two families in Maguindanao which caused a number of killings for years. 

PSupt. Ponsaran also implemented a campaign on Conflict Transformation in Brgy. Pinalpalan, Malita, Davao del Sur which led the community members to provide information about the presence of high-powered fireams in the house of their barangay captain.

This led to the confiscation of a machinegun, a Winchester rifle and an M16 rifle.

PSupt. Ponsaran also formulated the Sala’am Police program at the ARMM Police Regional Office to address the conflicts in Parang, Maguindanao. A dedicated priest and policeman, he travels from one barangay to another, enduring long hours of travel and crossing the river five times, to conduct lectures on conflict transformation.
