The youngest in this batch of awardees certainly compares well in terms of accomplishments with the rest of this year’s outstanding policemen. While his expertise and current responsibilities are in the realm of community relations, communications and information dissemination, SPO1 Orivida’s short and fruitful career is far replete with impressive success in crime resolution. Among those in his list of arrested criminals are notorious robbers, illegal drug dealers, illegal gambling operators, and communist insurgents. He was also instrumental in the neutralization of the Barok Hold-up Gang operation in Gumaca, Quezon and was part of the Civil Disturbance Management Company that helped secure Malacañang Palace during the May 2001 siege by supportes of the former President Estrada.

In addition to these stellar achievements, SPo1 Orivida’s career is made even brighter by his noteworthy contributions in crime prevention, particularly in relation to the excellent rapport and working partnership he has established with various sectors of the community. Aside his “Ugnayan sa Paaralan” and “Ugnayan sa Barangay” projects, he regularly holds consultative meetings and dialogues at the municipal level and facilitates the conduct of Youth Leadership Summit in pursuit of counter-insurgency objectives. SPO1 Orivida has also conducted lectures for Aeta communities and spearheaded a blood donation program to benefit indigent patients at the Gumaca General District Hospital.
