Chief Investigator, Police Station 6 General Santos City Police Office
What the Treasurer’s Office of the local government of General Santos City lost, the PNP and the larger community gained in the person of SPO2 Tugonon. Sixteen Years after joining the PNP in 1991, the former Tax Collection Officer has earned no less than nine medals and 30 commendations for gallantry in action and efficient and effective police work. More importantly, by personifying the highest ideals of public service, he has made a significant impact in the communities that he serves both as a competent law enforcer and a dedicated barangay official.
SPO2 Tugonon’s service record speaks volumes about his excellent partnership in the community. Whether in the pursuit of notorious criminals such as Akyat Bahay gangs or in the course of dispensing his duties as purok chairman, his consistently high regard for the involvement of his constituents has always accounted for much of his success. A no-nonsense officer who gets the job done no matter what – and who still ha a bullet lodged in his back to show off his valor – SPO2 Tugonon is just as effective in ensuring peace and order through competent and professional crime solution operations and crime prevention campaigns, as he is managing the affairs of local governance as the President of the Association of Purok Chairmen and the youngest member and Chairman of the Board of Samahan ng Lupong Tagapamayapa in their barangay. As an extension of his law enforcement duties he has organized and trained more than 200 civilian volunteers as force multipliers, appropriately known as the United People Against Crime or UPAC. With the support of the community, he has likewise mobilized resources for medical missions and provided assistance to a program that benefits street children.
A BS in Management graduate from the Notre Dame of Dadiangas, SPO2 Tugonon was born in Las Piñas but has spent most of his life in General Santos City, where he currently lives with his wife and their five children. |
