Deputy Chief, Police Community Relations Branch, Baguio City Police Office, Baguio City
SPO4 Garcia’s current assignment with the Police Community Relations (PCR) Office continues to hone her expertise in maintaining and utilizing close partnerships with the community to achieve peace and order. In her 24 years of service with the PNP, she has figured prominently in cases that led to the arrest of communist insurgents and members of gambling syndicates, as well as those involving child abuse and exploitation, juvenile delinquency and illegal drugs. Her cumulative accomplishments against trafficking in marijuana have resulted to the confiscation of more than 1000 kilos and 770 grams of dried marijuana leaves with as estimated value of more than P2 million, uprooting of more than 110 drug traffickers, 59 pushers and 10 marijuana cultivators. In all these accomplishments, she effectively worked with civilian assets in the community, routinely coordinating with barangay officials to gather information, build up case files and successfully execute police operations.
As part of her crime prevention efforts, and in partnership with a host of government agencies such as DSWD and the local government units, as well as private sector organizations, SPO4 Garcia has helped strengthen community-based networks and inter-agency cooperation to enhance police effectiveness. Since 1981, her advocacy work against substance abuse has brought her on drug information campaigns in school and far-flung barangays throughout her area of responsibility. Her achievements are reflected in Police Community Relations City Police Award, a national distinction recently won by her unit.
A native of Pampanga who has an undergraduate diploma in Criminology, SPO4 Garcia has remained single all these years, singularly attached and intensely dedicated to her profession. |
