Chief, Intelligence, Research and Analysis Divison Police Anti-Crime Emergency Response (PACER) Camp Crame, Quezon City
After almost two decades in the police force,P/Supt Iglesia lay claim to a host of significant achievements, notably the resolution of high-profile Kidnap-for-Ransom (KFR) cases. Aside from acting as chief negotiator, he also planned and executed operations that led to the neutralization of the dreaded Waray-Ilonggo and the Fajardo KFR groups. P/Supt. Iglesia also headed teams that apprehended former Congressman Mitchell Gumabao, alias Dennis Roldan, and his cohorts. His work with informants in the community as part of his barangay intelligence networks have always proved crucial to his success, as exemplified in his involvement in the capture of Lupin Superable and Cesar Amado, the country’s 3rd and 4th most wanted kidnappers. The arrest of the latter eventually led to the solution of the celebrated Betty Chua Sy kidnapping case.
Just as importantly, his contributions to the community through his expertise in KFR cases have transcended the line beyond law enforcement. Through his initiative, landmark projects for the establishments of operational plans, negotiating procedures, strengthening of networks with local and international police agencies, and information dissemination campaigns through the media as well as through the seminars have all made a positive and enduring impact in the fight against criminality. His encompassing approach to stakeholder involvement sees the active participation of different sectors of the community, including business organizations, religious institutions, the academe, other government agencies and the NGO communities, ultimately helping bring back the trust and confidence of the public in the police.
An alumnus of the Philippine Military Academy, P/Supt Iglesia honed his talents with the defunct Philippine Constabulary before joining the PNP and later earned a Masters degree in Public Administration. He is married to the former Lira May Alviar, with whom he has four children. |
