Intelligence Operative Regional Intelligence and Investigation Division (Special Detail with Police Anti-Crime Emergency Response- Western Visayas) Police Regional Office 6, Iloilo City
In relatively short period of eight years with the PNP, PO3 Gimeno has definitely made his mark as a law enforcement agent. Using his extensive network of community informants and old-fashioned police work, his record speaks of an up-and-coming police non-commissioned officer with a profound appreciation of the value of partnership between the community and law-enforcement authorities. The list of notorious and high-profile criminals he has helped put behind bars includes communist regulars, members of robbery-holdup syndicates and kidnap-for-ransom gangs, and an international fugitive. In the process, these feats of bravery and hard work earned the PNP the trust of various sectors of the community, particularly the media and Chinese-Filipino businessmen.
The youngest in this year’s batch of awardees at 30 years old, PO3 Gimeno is an active supporter of crime prevention programs. Aside from establishing information and intelligence networks to help the police, he also supervises the local community’s anti-drug abuse council and facilitates the peace and order committee, both of which involve the work of community volunteers. As part of their strategies and tactics, he helps prepare operation and implementation plans for crime prevention and monitoring, including the use of VHF radios for faster police response.
Aside from his undergraduate degree from the University of Iloilo, PO3 Gimeno is taking a Masters degree in Public Administration from the Aklan State University. A native of Capiz, he now resides in Iloilo City with his wife Lezerie, and their four children. |
