Women and Children’s Concern Desk (WCCD) Investigator Iriga City Police Station, Iriga City, Camarines Sur
PO3 Alteza’s current assignment with the WCCD as an investigator regularly gets her to work closely with the community. In her seven years with the police, she has figured prominently in cases that involved not just hardened criminals, but women offenders and those that prey on women and children. Aside from participating in operations that led to the arrest of some of the most wanted persons in Iriga City, she also worked on cases involving human trafficking and illegal drugs. In all these achievements, she effectively utilized both community informants and civilian assets, routinely coordinating with barangay officials to gather information and build up case files.
As part of her crime prevention efforts, and in partnership with a host of government agencies such as the DSWD and the local government units, as well as private sector organizations, PO3 Alteza hosts a thirty-minute radio program the tackles criminal laws and procedures, especially those concerning women and children, and serves as a venue for airing action items for the police. As an expression of her advocacies, she initiated a literacy project for streetchildren and organized a support group to address issues and concerns on domestic violence. She also undertook an outreach program to help inform members of indigeous communities of their rights and privileges. She has also embarked on a fund-raising campaign to help construct the Iriga City Women and Children Crisis and Intervention Center as well as conduct research on the causes of child abuse in the area.
Aside from earning an undergraduate diploma from Bicol University, PO3 Alteza also finished a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Northeastern Philippines. Despite her professional obligations, her main responsibility remains as spouse to Emmanuel and their two children. |
