With almost twenty tears of service record under his belt, SPO2 Mabalot essays the new roles of the police in the community: law enforcer, ambassador of goodwill, liaison officer, communications specialist. Be it work on a child abuse case, coordination of operations of the Women and Children Concerns section of the unit, the neutralization of a drug syndicate and confiscation of illegal drugs amounting to P1.5 million, the termination of a reign of terror of a local warlord, or the recovery of a kidnapped businessman, his efforts were always inevitably linked to, and considered the result of, his rapport with the community. From providing vital information on each of these cases, to encouraging victims and witnesses to bring their cases and testify in court, SPO2 Mabalot has done a lot in vreating more impact for, and raising wareness on, the achievements of the police.
Not surprisingly, his efforts have spilled over into the crime prevention arena. H is Kiddy Cops and Street Scouts projects have received support and gained official accreditation not just from local government authorities, but from concerned private sector organizations as well. His Crimewatch Volunteers Project, on the other hand, has become one of the most recognized NGOs in Zamboanga and the most successful in terms of crime prevention. Last but not the least, his record as an anchorman and resource person in local radio stations has earned for the entire PNP the trust, respect and confidence of the community.
SPO2 Mabalot is a graduate of BS in Criminology from the Zamboanga A. E. Colloges. He is a native of Zamboanga City, where he lives with wife Jennifer and their three children. |
