As Regional Intelligence and Investigation Division, PRO Calabarzon based in Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba City, Laguna, SPO2 Geronimo Manalo continues to excel as a public servant in the field of law enforcement. This is amply attested to by no less than 39 medals and numerous other awards and distinctions he has received over the last 12 years not just from the PNP, but from other sectors of the community as well. These achievements include being named as one of the Outstanding Policemen of the Philippines by the Philippine Jaycees, an award conferred by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in MalacaƱang in 2003.in 2001, he was adjudged as Best Senior PNCO of the year in Batangas Province and the entire Region IV.
Included in his impressive roster of accomplishments is the early solution of robbery, homicide, rape and swindling cases and the arrest of the perpetrators of these crimes, one of whom is a member of an international swindling syndicate; the neutralization of organized crime and kidnap-for-ransom groups such as the Platon and Solis Groups, respectively, both of which used to operate in Southern Tagalog and Metro Manila; and the discovery and dismantlement of drug syndicates, among many others. Once such example of gallantry in action the earned him a meritorious promotion to the next higher rank was his involvement in an encounter with the New Peoples Army regulars in Batangas City in 2000, which resulted to the death of nine NPS members, recovery of high-powered firearms, ammunitions and voluminous subversive documents, and the arrest of one NPA member.
An active and well-sought out speaker and guest lecturer on illegal drugs and anti-criminality campaigns, SPO2 Manalo has routinely worked with the youth and socio-civic organizations in helping secure the safety and security of the community. Aside from organizing Barangay Intelligence Networks and sports fests in his areas of responsibility, he likewise participates in the conduct of medical missions in depressed areas in Batangas.
SPO2 Manalo earned a degree in Criminology from the Philippine College of Criminology and took up Masteral units in Public Administration from the Philippine Christian University. He hails from Lipa City, Batangas, married and a father of one. |
