A police non-commissioned officer assigned in Sibulan, Negros Oriental, is one of the 10 outstanding policemen and women all over the country, in the search for the Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service, sponsored by the Metrobank Foundation, in partnership with the Rotary Club of New Manila East and PS Bank.
The awardee from Negros Oriental was Police Officer 3 Edilberto Euraoba III of Sibulan police station, while the awardees in Region 6 are Police Officers 3 Shiela Mae Sangrines of the Police Regional Office 6 Women and Children Concerned Desk, and Joey Castillon of Tobias Fornier, Antique. Metrobank Foundation president Aniceto Sobrepeña, in a statement, said “these outstanding policemen and women are a testament of our police force’s dedication to their sworn duty and professionalism towards performing their responsibilities.” Police Supt. William Senoron, former Task Force Ilahas action officer and Sagay police chief, and Chief Inspector Rico Santotome, provincial police spokesman, were among the 100 nominees for COPS across the nation. The COPS final board of judges was co-chaired by Justice Secretary Leila de Lima and Supreme Court Associate Justice Mariano del Castillo, while other members are Dr. Jose Ma. Arsenio Mariano, president of the University of Asia and the Pacific, Eusebio Tan, president of the Management Association of the Philippines, Jose Tale, chairman of the Couples for Christ; Paul Schafer, resident representative of the Hanns Seidel Foundation; and broadcast journalist Joel Reyes Zobel of Super Radyo DZBB. Sobrepeña said each awardee will receive a cash prize of P250,000 and a trophy from the Metrobank Foundation. The awarding ceremony will be held at Malacañang on Aug. 31 with President Benigno Aquino III as guest of honor and speaker. |
