The Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service (COPS) program organizers geared up for the 2009 search by forging a memorandum of agreement. Organized by Metrobank Foundation, Rotary Club of New Manila East, PSBank, and the Philippine National Police, the program recognizes the top 10 policemen and women for their career achievements and service to the community. The program promotes the shared responsibility between the police force and the community in the prevention and resolution of crime. Since its inception in 2003, the nationwide search has recognized 50 policemen and women who selflessly serve and protect the people, preserve peace and order and ultimately contribute to the task of nation-building. Last year, it gathered 185 nominations, the highest turn-out ever.
