SPO1 EMAN ORIVIDA, serving the community through sworn duty |

At 33 years old, SPO1 Eman Orivida is the youngest in the batch of COPS 2008 awardees but he certainly compares well in terms of accomplishments. After almost 10 years of service in the police force, SPO1 Orivida is now operations sergeant of the 416th Police Provincial Mobile Group. He is also a member of the 2nd Civil Military Operations Battallion, Joint AFP-PNP Communication and Information Company as well as a member of the 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter Division) of the Philippine Army. As of this writing, he is assigned in Brgy. Mabini Ibaba, Macalelon, Quezon.
He is a member of the Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines and consistently topped and completed with flying colors various police training programs, including a Markmanship Award. He also received 2nd place honors in the Public Safety Junior Course and 3rd place honors in the Tactical Psychological Operations Course.
While his expertise and current responsibilities are in the realm of community relations, communications and information dissemination, SPO1 Orivida’s short but fruitful career is replete with impressive successes in crime resolution. Among these is the arrest of notorious robbers illegal drug dealers, illegal gambling operators andc communist insurgents. He was also instrumental in the neturalization of the Barok hold-up gang operating in Gumaca, Quezon and was part of the Civil Disturbance Management Company that helped secure Malacanang Palace during the May 2001 siege.
In addition to these stellar achievements, SPO1 Orivida’s career is made even brighter by his noteworthy contributions in crime prevention, particularly in relation to the excellent rapport and working partnership he has established with various sectors of the community. Aside from his “Ugnayan sa Paaralan” and “Ugnayan sa Barangay” projects, he regularly holds consultative meetings and dialogues at the municipal level and facilitates the conduct of Youth Leadership Summit in pursuit of counter-insurgency objectives. SPO1 Orivida has also conducted lectures for Aeta communities and spearheaded a blood donation program to benefit indigent patients at the Gumaca General District Hospital.
